Nestled in the foothills
of the Cumberland Mountains is a small school built in the
fifties. This small school became home for Putnam County Alternative
School in 1980. Now in its 22nd year, Dry Valley has been
described as an old fashioned school where responsibility
and accountability are high on Dry Valley’s agenda.
Though different strategies are used to achieve
the academic and behavioral goals, Dry Valley believes that
without a caring staff who will treat the students with dignity
and respect there will be no “alternative” to
what they have already experienced.
Dry Valley tries hard to make our school a home away from
home.
